Dutch Dare Challenge 46

Why are mens and boys cards so difficult!!! My son Kieran turns 16 on Thursday, where have those years gone, they have flashed by. I am hoping he will grow out of the "Kevin" stage he started the night before he turned 13 in the next year or so. This is the card I made for him, Blue spotty paper is from Dovecraft, image is from the George and Dottie collection at Charmed Cards and Crafts http://www.charmedcardsandcrafts.co.uk/ coloured in with my Prismas, the blue buttons are from the blue embellishment pack in this months Docrafts goody bag. Ribbon is from Hobbycraft and gems are from my stash. I have followed this weeks sketch from Dutch Dare Card Challenges http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/ so am entering it into the challenge. Thanks for looking x

This is my entry for challenge 6 at Creative Inpirations http://cinspirations.blogspot.com/ The image has been coloured in with my Prismas, I have ordered some promarkers to see what the fuss is all about but they haven't arrived yet but it will be good to have a play with them when they arrive. The backing paper is from Crafts Too. Sentiment is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly, I have used Papermania brads and flowers from this months Docrafts goody bag and large flower on right hand side is a cuttlebug die and cuttlebug fancy corner die also used on left hand side of image. I think these colours went really well together.

Hooray My new Nestabilities have arrived

Hooray, 3 out of the 4 new nestabilities sets I ordered have arrived today, can't wait to try them out, I'm still waiting for the Peony one to arrive but I was told they should have them in by end of April so hopefully any day soon, I think out of all my crafting stuff my nesties are my absolute favourite. I have also been very naughty and ordered a couple of sets of Promarkers as so many people seem to rave about them, I couldn't make my mind up between Cpics and Promarkers but thought the only way I can decide is to at least try some out. Any advice would be appreciated if anyone can give me tips on the best way to use them. Thanks Julie x

Gift for Brenda

This is a necklace and gift box I made for my Stepmother Brenda. I made the jewellery at the lessons I got to once a fortnight. I was shown how to make the gift box by Jenny at the Ringwood show last year, so easy but I wouldn't have worked out how to do it myself. Thank you for sharing the idea Jenny, here is her blog http://www.stampingmoments.blogspot.com/ which has some great ideas so check it out.

The wording for this award is as follows:-The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement.Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers.Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.I now need to pass this award on to 8 more bloggers. Quite a difficult job when there are so many wonderful bloggers out there. However, these are my choices.

Pink Elephant - Colour Challenge

Well its been a few days since I last posted anything, I've been enjoying the lovely weather with my family before the kids go back to school tomorrow, but today I have managed to get on and make a couple of cards for Mondays challenges.

This card is what I am entering into Pink Elephants Challenge with http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/, this week it was a colour theme, Pink, Green and Yellow, not colours I would have thought putting together before but I have attempted it and this is what I came up with.

The backing papers are by Papermania, I've used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder on the pale green card, image is a Penny Black clear stamp coloured in with my Prismas, I have then cut out the image with my oval nesties and layered it onto a scalloped oval cut with my nesties, I have most sets now and must say they are probably my favourite crafting item. The sentiment is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly which I have cut out with my circle nesties. The top right hand corner flowers I have made with two sizes of x cut daisy punch and a double punch for the centres which are yellow you can't see the middle that well unfortunately.

Thanks for looking x

Papertake weekly challenge - Perfect Pastels

This is my card entry to this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/, the theme this week is perfect pastels. I love pastel colours. Papers are by Papermania (pastels collection), the image is a clear rubber stamp sold by docrafts stockists which I have coloured in the my prismas, I have used gingham ribbon through the 2 holes in the blue buttons on the top left hand corner. The tag has been made using my Whale of a Punch deckled tag punch which I have then stuck onto some spotty pastel paper and cut around and then I've added a brad and some ribbon.

CSSR Challenge

Well here is my entry for this weeks CSSR challenge - to keep in shape, so if you use a square card, image needs to be square, sentiment needs to be square, embellishments need to be square etc http://www.clarecurdsignaturerange.blogspot.com/
I have made a square card , used CSSR backing paper which looks like squares, image is a clear stamp from CSSR range, I have not coloured it in as I wanted to just keep everything black and white. Small sentiment squares cut using my nesties added number 21 as I thought this would make a nice 21st card, 3 square clear gems have been coloured with my black peel off pen.
I have added a ribbon bow although I know the shape is not square the pattern is gingham which are black and white squares so hope I get away with that embellishment, just thought the bow finished the card off nicely. Thanks for looking x

I've been unwell

Please excuse me for not posting anything or entering any challenges since Thursday, I went into hospital on Friday to have a tooth root taken out and have not been feeling well since. My face has ballooned out like a hamsters, when he stores his food in his cheeks and I have felt really run down. I have rushed around today to try and get a 4 card order that a friend asked me to do for her made up as I need to get them sent out tomorrow but I have not had any inspiration and everything I attempted has been going wrong today. I'm hoping for a better week so I can enter some of the great challenges out there and get back to my usual self.
